Pierre, SD – Secretary of State Chris Nelson wants to remind South Dakotans that if you have a loved one serving overseas in the military to check and see if they have made arrangements to receive an absentee ballot.

“Election season is upon us. Everyone deserves the right to vote,” Nelson said, “especially our servicemen and women who are overseas protecting our homeland.”

For information on how to obtain an absentee ballot you can view the Secretary of State Webpage at www.sdsos.gov/absentee.htm , or you can contact your county auditor.
