Secretary of State Website to Feature Live Election Night Returns

PIERRE, SD – Secretary of State Chris Nelson would like to announce that the 2004 General Election Results can be found at www.sdsos.gov/results/RESULTS.HTM beginning at 8:00 p.m. CST on November 2.  The results will be updated every five minutes. Viewers will need to reload each page to view new updates.  If a person does not have access to the Internet, they can call 1-888-70Elect for election results.

The election results that will be featured on the Secretary of State Website will be federal, statewide and legislative races along with results on Constitutional Amendment A and B, and Initiated Measure 1.  County race results are available from the SD County Officials Association at http://www.sdcounties.org.

“South Dakotans will be anxious to start seeing election results soon after the polls close on November 2,” said Secretary of State Chris Nelson.  “Offering the election results online will provide people with quick, accurate information once the counties start tallying their votes.”
